Who We Are!
CHASING THE WILD GOOSE...
The following paragraph is the introduction to a book written by
Mark Batterhouse titled "Wild Goose Chase".
Christians had a name for the Holy Spirit–An Geadh-Glas, or ‘the Wild Goose.’The
name hints at mystery. Much like a wild goose, the Spirit of God cannot be
tracked or tamed. An element of danger, an air of unpredictability surrounds
Him. And while the name may sound a little sacrilegious, I cannot think of a
better description of what it’s
like to follow the Spirit through life. I think the Celtic
Christians were on to something…
In this ministry that God has given, we serve and go with no idea most of the time where we are going or what we will encounter, but this an Adventure."
In the Ministry’s early history two individuals joined
as partners in the essence of adventure in following Holy Spirit opportunities
in neighborhood outreach, not knowing what was to be found or the results of
each encounter. The meeting of these two was the beginning of a no-named mixed denominational group of individuals who
possessed a LIKEMINDED relationship with Jesus and some desperately seeking
restoration from a life of reckless living.
This ADVENTURE of seeing God move and individual lives CHANGE soon brought the group to the God inspired point of establishing an official
not for profit ministry organization.
One sermon with a ment2ion of the Mark Batterhouse book,
"Wild Goose Chase" and the subsequent reading lead to the name of the
ministry, "The Wild Goose Outreach Ministries" (WGOM), in respect to the true life adventure of
following the Spirit of God which cannot be tracked or tamed; contains an element of danger, and an air of unpredictability... AN ADVENTURE!
WGOM was formed in 2007 with the sole purpose of SHARING THE HOPE found in a relationship with Jesus the Messiah and the relevancy of Biblical
TRUTH to everyday trials of life and to make available the RESOURCES of the
Ministry for IMMEDIATE physical needs.
